Gooner Wins Gunner Car
WOW! I had dreams of buying myself a car, and skinning it with the Arsenal colours and logos. But this lucky fellow Gooner won it! Awesome!!
Teenage Cancer Trust has been Arsenal’s chosen charity of the season for 2008/09 and the partnership will shortly come to a close. Through the ‘Be a Gooner. Be a Giver.’ campaign, the target of £300,000 has been smashed and to date over £524,500 has been raised. The partnership is not yet over however, and you can still donate by going to www.beagoonerbeagiver.org.
Arsenal Singapore on the other hand is participating in the Children’s Cancer Foundation Hair For Hope 2009 where 9 of us, including myself, will be shaving our heads for charity!
David Shearwood from Camberley, Surrey, received the keys for a uniquely designed Citroën C4, the ‘Ultimate Arsenal Fans’ Car’, that helped raise nearly £12,000 for Arsenal’s Charity of the Season, Teenage Cancer Trust.
The ‘Ultimate Arsenal Fans’ Car’ was designed by world famous cartoonist Gerald Scarfe assisted byRobin van Persie, Gael Clichy and Manuel Almunia and helped raise £11,756 for Teenage Cancer Trust contributing to the season-long aim of £300,000 to fund an Education Zone within a brand new Day Care Centre for young adults with cancer.
David, who is a matchday steward at Emirates Stadium, commented: “I’m literally over the moon to have won such a special car as I’ve been an Arsenal fan since the 1970s. Both my sons are Arsenal fans and I suppose we should steer clear of driving it through Tottenham on the way home!”
Oh yes! You should! Haha!
While Gerald Scarfe and the players designed the exterior, Arsenal supporters chose the car interior design and opted for red, blue and white leather seats. Fabregas and Bergkamp name and numbers now adorn the rear of the front seats and passengers in the back will be able to enjoy the ’49 – The Complete Unbeaten Record’ DVD on the move.

Ah well, I have to first get my driving license before I can ever get a car. And it’s ARSENAL! ARSENAL FC!
